Synopsis for 1st story

While glad they didn't fall into a bottomless pit, Felicia was rankled by the fact that they owed S'ym, who finds it not uncommon to find Earth girls responsible for the shaking in Limbo, and Mary Jane comments how that's been the norm for them all day. S'ym asks if Belasco sent them, but Felicia plays dumb to no avail. S'ym explains that he's there for Belasco's sword to become an overlord himself, tired of being a minion, especially since Belasco, Magik, and now Pryor have taken turns ruling Limbo, equating it to colonialism from Earth-born mages. Mary Jane starts to agree with S'ym's viewpoint of a Limbo native ruling the realm. So, Felicia decides to confess about their mission and team up with S'ym for the sword before they inevitably betray each other. The elated S'ym agrees and shares that he's the strongest within the tower save for the Guardian, but doesn't know how to find them. Thankfully, Felicia has Belasco's soul compass, which ONLY works for Felicia, and all they need do is avoid the other factions vying for the sword.

S'ym assures them it won't be a problem, as the other factions are standing-by outside waiting for someone else to bring out the soul sword. While Felicia expects they'll have to fight them upon claiming their prize, S'ym assures her they won't since he'll betray them and claim the sword upon discovery. Mary Jane asks if Felicia has a plan for this, but the master thief confesses that she doesn't. Venturing further into the tower, Felicia reflects how she doesn't like to disclose not having a plan, as it normally freaks people out, but she wanted to be honest with Mary Jane about something. Given her situation with Peter on Earth, it's the worst kind of secret, the kind that will come out eventually. While the secret will soon come out, Felicia would rather it be revealed back home where they're safer, and she'll keep trying to mitigate the damage. When Mary Jane voices how Felicia has been awfully quiet, Felicia justifies the situation as the reason, and S'ym enjoys their company as they haven't commanded or maimed him during the whole trek. While Felicia enjoys new experiences, they're in hot water being in a Hell dimension going into a tower even the locals are afraid of, as they fulfill the job for Belasco, knowing S'ym is refreshingly honest about betraying them soon.

Mary Jane voices confidence, given their last team-up^[1] and how Felicia tackled former Sinister Six members. Felicia puts Mary Jane's faith in her to the test when demon birds and the trio coordinate a win. Mary Jane notes Felicia looks pleased now, as Felicia notes that there being guards means they're closer to the vault now. Now that they're close, they must figure out their next move before S'ym's obvious betrayal. Asking S'ym for details on the Guardian, the ally demon explains that the Dark Gods built the tower not to guard the sword, which is the Guardian's job, but was meant to imprison the Guardian, which reveals itself behind the group. With the situation desperate, Felicia asks Mary Jane to use her powers and gets Double SKULL and BAR, gaining the power of colored smoke. When S'ym mentions that the situation would be bad for a betrayal, Mary Jane realizes Felicia is giving her bad luck, which only causes bad luck for those she sees as her enemies, to which Mary Jane deduces it's something about her and concludes this is about Peter. The bomb Felicia was afraid of finally goes off, the trio is ensnared by the Guardian, and the eldritch monster has them at its mercy.
