A New Face Playing a Different Song?

The Staffordshire Band are delighted to announce the signing of Steve Allen on 1st Baritone.

Educated in Sandwell, Steve developed a great interest in music from a young age, playing Baritone in Sandwell Youth Band before going on to perform with The Langley Band and Sovereign Brass in the Midlands.

For the last 14 years, Steve was the musical director of the Warley Male Choir, a role which he led with enthusiasm, taking control at the podium on two occasions conducting the English Association of Male Voice Choirs and conducting massed Choirs at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

Steve has achieved success in past years on brass, taking part in the Regional/National Finals, and All England Masters and looks forward to continued success with The Staffordshire Band.

A Technical Underwriting Manager for a major Insurer keeps Steve busy during the day. Outside of music, Steve is a keen runner having completed a number of full and half marathons raising funds for charities, an interest he shares with his wife Helen.

Shaun Elliott, Chairman of The Staffordshire Band said, 'We are delighted to welcome Steve to the Band. He brings an enormous amount of musical experience and ability - we expect him to have a huge impact, once he gets his 'lip' back! We wish him a very long, enjoyable, successful and fun time with us into the future!'
